Tekken 7? Injustice 2? Not interested in either of these? Not to fret – there’s another alternative coming shortly.
Arc System Works might be providing you a different route than the previous games. Guilty Gear Xrd, which got positive reviews in the past, is now preparing the Rev 2 version with new characters (Baiken and Answer), moves, story chapters, stages, as well as the usual deal of rebalancing characters to make fighting seem a bit fairer than before.
Meanwhile, the opening move is quite the stylish one, giving out a different vibe than Bandai Namco’s Tekken 7 or NetherRealm’s Injustice 2 – it feels Japanese, but then again, Tekken’s made there as well, so it’s not a problem.
Guilty Gear Xrd: Rev 2 will stay in Japan with its arcade version (it’s out on Wednesday on that platform), but the PlayStation 4 (digital and physical) and PlayStation 3 (digital-only) versions will be out in North America on May 26. A PC port is coming later. Who’s going to be the European publisher…?
