He had got to the Lighthouse before it was too late.
Mike Mariana was playing Destiny since the beta, but it didn’t happen without complications: he happened to have cancer in his colon, and he could play only this game due to the side effects of chemotherapy. During gaming, he met two friends called Elliot and Tim, although they started to play other games, moving on from Bungie’s shooter.
Mike’s situation became worse over time, and he wasn’t able to complete Trials of Osiris alone. Therefore, Elliot and Tim decided to contact a Twitch streamer called DrLupo to help him. Quoting him from Reddit, he helped Mike forget his problems for an hour.
While they got to the Lighthouse, Mike’s destination, he started to talk about how the colon cancer was diagnosed eight months ago, and unfortunately, it recently spread to his liver and brain.
Sadly, Mike passed away a week ago, and Lupo still wanted to support his family – he received a link to a memorial fund, which passed the initial goal of 5,000 dollars in less than a day thanks to the Destiny players. Even the raised, 7,500 dollar target was hit in no time.
There’s still solidarity in the world.
