If you have a Sony TV, you can use PlayStation Now

No need for a PlayStation 4 to stream PS3 games in the future via the PlayStation Now Service. It will also be accessible for different Sony televisions, meaning that you won’t need a console at all in order to stream and play PlayStation 3 software.

Sony has announced that on June 30, the PlayStation Now beta will extend to some Sony TVs. Only the newest 1080p and 4K televisions from Sony will support PS Now, and the beta will only be available in the US.

The television set of course needs to be online, and it also needs the possibility to connect a DualShock 3 controller. This is usually possible with a simple USB connection. The rental prices range from $3 for short term rentals, and all the way up to $20.

Here’s a list of the currently supported Sony Bravia TVs for the PlayStation Now beta:

XBR-X950B series
XBR-X900B series
XBR-X800B series
KDL-W950B series
KDL-W850B series
KDL-W800B series
KDL-W700B series
KDL-W600B series
The beta will be available for these TVs on June 30. While close beta for PlayStation 4 is already running a PlayStation 4 open beta will launch on 2014 July 31.
