Perhaps the Clock Tower series were unknown to a lot of gamers, still, the games were one of the most frightening horror titles of their time. The series spawned three titles from Human Entertainment before Capcom bought the property and made the PS2 game. Well, Hifumi Kono the creator of Clock Tower and the film director Takashi Shimizu have gone to Kickstarter to see if they can raise the funds to create a spiritual successor, which is a measly $300,000.
NightCry (which is a working title) will be an indie game with strong horror elements and mystery. The game is set on a cruise ship where its guests and crew begin to turn up dead. It will be a 3D point-and-click adventure with an emphasis on solving puzzles and observing the environment. (It somehow reminds me the old adventure title Cruise for a Corpse.)
NightCry is being developed for at the moment for PC, PlayStation Vita and mobile devices with the potential of other platforms depending how successful this Kickstarter becomes. If you’re maybe a tiny bit interested in horror games, and you have some money to spare then NightCry deserves your support.
In addition, Shaiker Corporation has released the full version of their short horror film for NightCry that they teased a few weeks ago.
