The game prices in Australia are much higher than everywhere else – physical games usually tend to be at least 80 bucks instead of the usual 50 or 60, but the digital versions are cheaper… for now. They won’t be much cheaper anymore, if a proposal will be voted and passed this week.
If it gets the nod, digital games – in our case, it’s PSN – will immediately receive a 10 percent tax on them, making them that more expensive! There were already reports in 2012, which said that digital sales resulted in a 1 billion dollar tax loss, but now, it seems there is no mercy for the Australian gamers…
