Crystal Dynamics’ successful Tomb Raider reboot’s sequel, Rise of the Tomb Raider got a release date on all three platforms, and as expected, the PlayStation 4 got the short end of the stick. Due to the timed exclusivity deal with Microsoft, this platform will receive the port last in line…
Square Enix will publish the continuation of Lara’s story on the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 on November 10, the PC version (by that, we mean Windows 10/Steam) will be out in early 2016, and on PlayStation 4 (interesting, will there be no PlayStation 3 port?), Rise of the Tomb Raider will be out in the holiday season of 2016, a whole one year after the rival console. Probably, the PS4 port will not be fully priced, unless it’s going to be a Complete Edition of some sorts.
This is terrible news for PS4-owning Lara Croft fans worldwide: unless they have a somewhat decent PC as well nearby, they will have to wait a year until they can play the game. Timed exclusivity is indeed a double-edged sword…
