The situation between Yager and Deep Silver is much more complex than we thought: first, Deep Silver announced that Yager is no longer working on the long awaited Dead Island 2, which was followed by a press release by the German company as well – we thought the situation would come to an end, but it seems there is even more behind the curtains…
Yager’s sub-division, Yager Productions GMBH has filed for insolvency, and this isn’t going to affect a lot, as the development of other projects are going okay and the wages for the workers are also secured. But… this division was the responsible for the development of Dead Island 2! According to Timo Ullmann, the early cancellation of the project was the reason behind the insolvency, but the workers are not going to be fired.
So Yager keeps going on with Dreadnought and Dead Island 2 is given to someone else, but please, Deep Silver, don’t give it to Eutechnyx with a rushed deadline. Remember how Ride to Hell: Retribution ended up…
This series will fall….
