2K is now keeping the six-year pace! The publisher kept their word and officially revealed Mafia 3 yesterday, however, we were wrong about it. It’s not being developed by 2K Czech, instead, the development rights were given to a new studio called Hangar 13 – and as we guessed correctly, the game will appear in 2016. After 2004 and 2010, it’s no surprise.
The game is different compared to our original guess. Mafia 3 is happening throughout 1968 (we weren’t that far off with our guess here!) in the city of New Orleans, but it’s being controlled almost entirely by the Italian mafia – corruption is a given.
The main character (no, not protagonist!) is called Lincoln Clay, who’s a Vietnam War veteran, but surprise, he’s a black guy! The story is the usual my family got killed-I will have my revenge, but with our contacts with other criminals, New Orleans can be ruled by us in the end. With deception or firepower, it depends on us. We’ll take control of an anti-hero here, adding a surprise twist into the game.
The release date isn’t really set in stone, so far it’s just 2016, on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One and the PC.
