When Sony announced a price cut for the PlayStation 4 in Japan (essentially making it around 300 bucks in the country), we immediately began taking bets on when they will pull it off around the world as well, and we also guessed that the price would be chopped by 50 dollars to 350 USD/EUR. Although there is still no official announcement of the price slash yet,
Target has already stated that the PlayStation 4 will have its price lowered by 50 bucks, as the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection PS4 bundle is priced at 350 USD. It’s pretty much a semi-official announcement already.
Actually, when will Sony finally announce the price drop? Because even Xbox boss Phil Spencer thinks it will happen.
Our guess would be that it will be confirmed during Paris Game Week, where most likely, Quantic Dream will announce their PlayStation 4-exclusive game, as well as the launch date for the ports of Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls. If it doesn’t happen, remember that the PS3 launched with the price tag of 600 dollars 8 years ago…
