It’s happening: Sony finally extends the price drop from Japan to the North American region too. By the way, the price cut launched on October 1 there, and it really boosted the sales: on the 09/28 – 10/04 week, 46177 PlayStation 4s were sold, compared to 4071 during the 09/21 – 09/27 week. This grew the sales elevenfold, unsurprisingly making the best selling console on this week. We can’t expect this growth in the NA region, but the price cut will definitely have a positive effect on the console sales.
So far, the PS4 was sold for 400 dollars, this is now going to kicked down to just 350. This will affect the bundles as well: the Uncharted Nathan Drake Collection will cost 350, the limited edition Call of Duty Black Ops III bundle with the 1 TB hard drive will be 430 instead of 450, and the limited Star Wars Battlefront bundle will cost 400 instead of 450 dollars – not bad, you can get the Darth Vader PlayStation 4 for the old price of the default console.
No European announcement yet, but it’s probably going to happen in the next few days – this was expected to happen: this will take attention away from Xbox One, which is going to get Halo 5 and Rise of the Tomb Raider as exclusives for the holiday season.
