Bandai Namco and FromSoftware pulled a surprise move with a Dark Souls III stress testing on PlayStation 4. However, not everyone is able to just hop on and play, as the participants were limited, so don’t expect everyone around you to play the fourth Souls game months before release just like that. There is two things that we would have to complete to check out the stress test version.
Or would have had to. Yeah, we need to explain something…
First off, a PlayStation Plus subscription is required – but seeing how many of us have one, it is not much of a hassle. However, there was also a registration needed to participate. There is another twist: the stress test was already pulled since! So it was probably put up a bit early, or too many tried to download it? Who knows.
It probably won’t happen again soon, although it would make sense: Dark Souls III launches in Japan on March 24 on PS4, XB1 and PC, followed by a localized release worldwide in April.
The title screen music is excellent though. Have a listen:
