Nolan North, who’s the voice actor behind Nathan Drake ever since the start of Uncharted, has talked about the work-in-progress (?) Uncharted movie. This movie is just like the Yeti: nobody has ever seen it, but it is being made, probably. Sony has delayed the launch of it by a whole year to 2017, but we absolutely doubt that this movie will eventually end up in cinemas. It’s a mess, it’s been in development hell. Even North talked about it in that kind of manner, to be honest.
He says that no matter who’s going to be the actor for Drake, the fans simply won’t have that emotional tie to that certain actor. They don’t want this movie, and the fans would probably find it hard to get used to someone else – even if it was North himself, the voice of his might be recognized, but not the face. And that is the problem.
And we either don’t see the point of the movie. While the games themselves have a lot of cutscenes, making the experience somewhat close to the movies, what’s the point of making a film, really? (Speaking of cutsenes: check them out on The Nathan Drake Collection – perfect way to port the games from the PS3 to the PS4, except for no multiplayer)
