Let’s start with the good (?) news first: the beta of Star Wars Battlefront is going to have an extra day, so it’s only going to be shut down on October 13 on all three platforms (PS4, Xbox One, PC), as this extra day will be used to test the net infrastructure.
Going how the beta is free to access for everyone, this is going to get more players in, so it kinda makes sense. So in case you forgot to grab the beta from the PlayStation Store or if you had no time to do so, you are still not late to the party and run a few matches before it’s over.
Also, the almost obligatory comparison video is here, which compares the PlayStation 4 beta with the Xbox One‘s. We already knew about the resolution difference: while Sony‘s console has it on 900p, Microsoft’s only capable of 720p. There are other noticable differences though: Sony‘s platform has better performance (despite the higher resolution!), better textures, lighting, and the cutscenes also look better as well as having more effects throughout the game. So pretty much, on the graphical aspect, Battlefront looks nicer on the PS4, which, going by the Sony-marketing for the game, it’s a prefered developing platform for DICE.
