Sony has published new sales data about their very successful PlayStation 4. The last time they’ve done so was in November when they said that the PS4 has broken the 30-million sales barrier. This number was pushed up quite significantly in the holiday season, as 5.7 million (!) consoles were sold just in this period! The PS4 is closing up to 36 million, which is not bad.
Sony defined the holiday season as November 22, 2015, through January 2, 2016, for North America, Latin America, and Europe. In Japan and Asia, it’s November 23, 2015, through January 3, 2016.
Software-wise, it wasn’t a bad timeframe: over 35 million sales happened both physically and via the PlayStation Store. Unfortunately, Sony didn’t mention any PS3 and PS Vita sales numbers, which is a disappointment. Sony also announced that the PlayStation Plus subscriptions rose by 60 percent compared to the same period last year, though no specific figures were shared yet again. (Enjoy the sub-par free PlayStation 4-games, Sony dropped the ball on this front!)
Enough of banging our chests, let’s get back to work on amazing PS4-exclusives.
