OPINION – In a few days, January will come to an end. It means that Sony will have to announce the February free games for the PlayStation Plus subscribers. There are a few rumors. We can only just guess what Sony will provide us. Will they go with another sub-par lineup or they will put amazing games on board?
A new month, a new Plus list. A few days before Sony announces their plans, I try to bring up a few rumored candidates and a few denied titles. What else can the people who pay for multiplayer pick up next month? Let’s took a small dive.
Crypt of the NecroDancer?
Interestingly, Crypt of the NecroDancer‘s launch happens on February 2, on the PS4 and Vita. That’s the first Tuesday of the month, and coincidentally, this is when the January Plus list gets replaced by February’s. It’s confirmed to be not part of the PS Plus games despite the game’s genre and release date making it a possible candidate.
Not A Hero?
Another retro-styled indie game? It’s confirmed to launch on the PS4 on February 2, making it a possibility of becoming a „free launch” title, just like how Rocket League was. It’s very likely to be a free game for the subscribers, let’s put it that way…
Other rumors?
I read other rumors, too. PlayStation 3 might receive the Resident Evil Remake as a free title (which is not that bad of an idea, to be honest) and also, Shovel Knight as a freebie for the PS4 and the PS Vita. While I do believe this game is an excellent one, I’m not sure if it would be a good idea to go down the usual indie route like in the past few months. There were also some rumors of Bloodborne being the surprise title for February. We’ll see about that in a few days…
(Goddamnit,) AAA
If Sony would, at least, try to pull something decent off, maybe this should be the time to get a surprising move in. How about giving a 2014 or 2015 AAA title for free? How about an exclusive? Wouldn’t it be paying off in the long run? Perhaps this is how us users would have a much better opinion about Sony’s services.
