MOVIE NEWS – Earlier this year when the J.J. Abrams produced, Dan Trachtenberg directed 10 Cloverfield Lane offered its first glimpse to the world, fans of the original Cloverfield were ecstatic. The arrival of the new film’s trailer had seemingly come out of nowhere and promised a brand new Cloverfield film by this March.
As the dust began to settle from this initial surprise however, questions began to arise as to whether or not this new film was in fact, what it claimed to be. With its tiny $5 million budget, there was concern a proper monster movie couldn’t be adequately delivered and that Abrams and Co. weren’t quite being upfront about something.
The truth of the matter is that Abrams and Co. aren’t being upfront about something – and that’s exactly what adds to the intrigue of the upcoming film. What’s more, Abrams has spoken up in a recent interview with EW about the possibility of there being a third Cloverfield film in the works — though he was careful not to say too much.
“This is just this movie, and it’s only two films that we’re talking about right now. There is something else that we’d like to do, and hopefully we’ll get a shot.”
