Someone must have called IGN from Blizzard in a heated manner, as the website showed something prematurely without permission. (The advertisement has been removed since then.) The situation is that IGN started to use Overwatch‘s banners.
We haven’t heard anything about the exact release date of this team-based multiplayer shooter of Blizzard yet. The only thing we knew that it will launch on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in the spring and that is all. The early banner usage caused trouble for Blizzard due to not announcing the launch day yet. Also, it looks like there will be a beta for pre-orderers starting on May 3, three weeks before the assumed release date (May 24), if we can believe the banner information.
This leak means that we can pretty much accept the end of May as the release window for Overwatch. Blizzard can only do one thing: confirm this date. After all, IGN doesn’t get banners like this from devs/publishers with false information!
