Ubisoft Singapore, which was founded in 2008, became a vital part of the French company in no time. This group created Assassin’s Creed III‘s naval battles – this gameplay element became a mainstay in IV: Black Flag and Rogue as well. However, they are now working on something big.
Olivier de Rotailer, managing director of Ubisoft Singapore and South Asia, said on the GDC that they plan to open a new studio in the Philippines with the help of the Singaporean studio’s talent. The city state’s team worked on ten AAA games in seven years according to de Rotalier, who also mentioned that they are working on one of the biggest console/PC Ubisoft project at the moment. He didn’t name what it is, though.
It might be the 2017 Assassin’s Creed game; remember, there will be no main installment in 2016 and Ubisoft will release Watch Dogs‘ sequel instead. Perhaps we will get an announcement at E3 this year. Don’t underrate the Far East developers.
