Polyphony Digital has held their event yesterday which revealed a lot more about Gran Turismo Sport. We got to learn a ton of new information about the next GT-installment, which will launch this year! Let’s get started.
First off, something about the 2015 reveal. There was no word about a beta that should be happening this year, plus we didn’t hear anything about PlayStation VR-support either. We also have to point out that this game isn’t Gran Turismo 7, which will be a separate entity. A few years ago, Kazunori Yamauchi, boss of PD, said that it might be out in 2014 or 2015. That didn’t happen, Kaz!
Gran Turismo Sport will have a Limited Edition, too – the 70 dollar version will come with the following bonuses:
- GT Sport Starter Pack (8x Cars) – Gain immediate access to cars within various race class, including GT4, Rally, and more
- $1MM In-Game Credit – Build and customize your personalized garage
- Livery Sticker Pack – Bonus livery of numerous brands and logos
- 30x PS4 GT Sport Themed Avatars – Based on selected GT Sport featured vehicles
- Racing Helmet – For your customized driver profile
- Limited Edition Steel Book and Packaging
Pre-ordering will net the early access of the Ford Mustang Group B Rally Car, the Toyota FT-1 Vision GT Group 3, and the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP LMP1. Several retailers offer various bonuses on top of these cars:
GameStop
- 2x Early Access Bonus Cars: Chevrolet Corvette Group 3 & Nissan NISMO GT-R GT3 N24
PlayStation Store
- GT Themed PS4 Avatars
- GT Sport Dynamic Theme
- $500,000 In-Game Credit
Amazon
- $500,000 In-Game Credit
We also said that the game will be out this year. The German website PlayStation Friends was wrong about the October launch. The official release date for Gran Turismo Sport will be November 15 in Japan, Asia, and North America, and November 18 for Europe, respectively. You can check a trailer and the Limited Edition’s box art below. You can also check out a gallery on this page.
No wonder we haven’t heard about the beta! We just received an update that Polyphony decided to focus on the full game instead, so the beta is now cancelled. We will not be able to try the game before its release!
