Blizzard‘s website still has a job listing (right here), which is looking for a new employee. It’s now definite that Diablo won’t end with III!
As the website says, „Blizzard Entertainment is seeking a game director with outstanding communications skills, proven experience in creative direction, strong ability in system design, and a stellar track record of shipping AAA games to lead the Diablo series into the future.”
With this quote, it’s safe to say that Blizzard has gone past Diablo III, which first launched on PC in 2012, followed by a PS3/X360 release in 2013, and a PS4/X1 port in 2014, respectively. They want to make a step from III to IV, but without the involvement of Jay Wilson, the previous boss of Diablo III.
Hopefully, it will not make us wait for 12 years: II came out in 2000, and fans had to wait for almost a decade until Blizzard finally announced that yes, Diablo, one of the most known RPGs, is getting a sequel.
