Activision Blizzard provided their latest financial report, and it shows great numbers for its investors – the company doesn’t have a rousing success due to a single game, as was the case with Pokémon Go for Nintendo.
Their net revenue was 1.57 billion dollars, which is 50.4%up year-on-year. Their net profit dropped by 40% to 127 million dollars. However, the company acquired King Digital, developers of Candy Crush Saga, for 6 billion dollars, which might be another source of income later on.
The gigantic company has multiple successful games on the market at the moment: Call of Duty Black Ops III (which has a free weekend on PC at the moment), World of Warcraft (which launched a movie earlier this year), and Overwatch. Overwatch, having launched in May, is having over 33 million players, and it’s currently having its first event, themed around the Summer Games.
After the acquisition of King Digital, Activision Blizzard now has a foothold in mobile gaming, and the company will possibly provide investors more success (and thus, money) in the upcoming months, years.
