We didn’t hear a lot about this game despite it having a lot of potential to be successful.
No Matter Studios, which consists of only three (!) people, has been working on Prey for the Gods full-time since February. While the storytelling is similar to what we saw in Shadow of the Colossus, the small team’s project still looks a unique, enjoyable experience.
Prey for the Gods will be an action-survival game, where we have to climb, explore, and get rid of the Gods. There’ll be no cutscenes, and no expanded dialogue – the story will be shown to you via nearby statues, murals, and ruins, making you think instead of just listen.
In the latest video, a flying beast is in the focus. Our hero has to grapple up on it, but it’s not as easy as it sounds!
The release date for Prey for the Gods is unknown at the moment (should be out by the end of 2017 on PC, which means a possible 2018 start on consoles), but thanks to the success on Kickstarter, it will eventually arrive. The original target was 300 thousand dollars, but the devs ended up getting 501252 bucks. This amount means that there will be console ports after the initial Steam launch, there’ll also be new animations, new weapons, an orchestral soundtrack, a Mac port, and expanded environments.
