The last time SEGA touched this franchise, it was four years ago. Is it possible that they might return to their fighter?
2012 saw the last time a Virtua Fighter launch (Virtua Fighter 5: Showdown), but since then, we haven’t heard anything of the 1993-born franchise. However, SEGA has renewed the trademark, which may just be the usual business strategy to keep the name in SEGA‘s hands, but who knows?
As Sonic got its celebratory event earlier this year when he turned 25, what can SEGA do now? They may launch a new Virtua Fighter installment in 2018. As Wonder Boy also seems to be returning from his grave, SEGA is likely returning to its past – they might be up to a new Virtua Fighter game after all.
Virtua Fighter 6 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One… that doesn’t sound too shabby.
