One of the pleasant surprises of PlayStation Plus last summer now has over twenty million players.
Psyonix, who launched the sequel to 2008’s Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars (can someone even remember this name?), is having great success with Rocket League. Of course, part of this success is because the game launched as a freebie for PlayStation Plus subscribers out of the box in July 2015.
In July, they had only (?) 19 million players, but they crossed the 20 million barrier in August, and the game continues to expand. Basketball, followed by another free update and a new game mode in September (Rumble), which adds a ton of new power-ups, which changes the way how you should efficiently play the car football.
Congratulations! However, when will there be cross-platform multiplayer between PlayStation 4, the PC, and the Xbox One? Only Sony can answer this question.
