SEGA didn’t beat around the bushes with the first video: we literally see a baby thrown away…
Yakuza 6 not only got a Tokyo Game Show trailer, but it also received seventeen minutes of gameplay. As Yakuza 5 was localized three years after the Japanese launch, and Yakuza 0 seems to be still two years behind, SEGA is likely to see how many sales can the franchise get, and then decide if they will bring Yakuza 6 to the West or not. (They’d make a fatal mistake if they skip a numbered installment.)
In the first video, we see famed cult film director (Sonatine, Hana-Bi, Outrage) and actor (Battle Royale, all of his own films) Takeshi ‘Beat’ Kitano, who performs the baby throw at 01:41. The baby belongs to Haruka, who grew up during the series, and Kazuma Kiryu‘s one of the tasks is to look for the father. The city looks outstanding, and the PlayStation 4 Pro might make it look even sharper…
The Japanese release is due December 8, and if we’re lucky, we might get Yakuza 6 in 2018…
