Square Enix‘ two franchises combine their powers.
NieR: Automata grew out of the Drakengard series, and the new installment is currently being developed at PlatinumGames. Meanwhile, Final Fantasy XV, which is out on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Tuesday, is focusing on the DLCs. The pairing up of the two games won’t affect the storylines, so it’s going to be no more than a non-canonical plot.
In the video, we see YoRHa No.2 Type B, the protagonist of NieR: Automata and she uses Noctis’ Engine Blade, allowing her to teleport around at will, just like how Noctis does in Final Fantasy XV. Twenty-six seconds – not a lot, to be fair.
NieR: Automata launches in Japan on February 23 on PlayStation 4. The European and North American release dates (nor for the PS4, neither for the PC!) is currently unknown.
