Someone at GameStop is going to have a hard day…
The agreement between Marvel and Telltale was formed in 2015, and since a strike of the voice actors, we know that there is an episodic Guardians of the Galaxy game in development. We can now add the potential release date next to the name.
On GameStop‘s page, there was a – probably placeholder – release date listed for a while, naming April 25, which is a Tuesday. GameStop removed this date, as well as the game’s synopsis in no time, but they are too late…
The synopsis follows: „Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series delivers a brand new story of the universe’s unlikeliest heroes, the rag-tag band of outlaws who go by the names Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot.
In the wake of an epic battle, the Guardians discover an artifact of unspeakable power. Each of the Guardians has a reason to desire this relic, as does a ruthless enemy who is the last of her kind, and who will stop at nothing to tear it from their hands.
From Earth to the Milano to Knowhere and beyond, and set to the beat of awesome music, this five-part episodic series puts you in the rocket-powered boots of Star-Lord in an original Guardians adventure, told in the unique and award-winning Telltale style, where your decisions and actions will drive the path of the story you experience.”
The date would fall close to the second movie’s launch day, and the game would be available as a Season Pass disc as well with only one episode out of five on the disc. All we have seen of this game so far was a teaser trailer.
