The Tony Hawk franchise’s return in 2015 was a massive flop. Is Skate going to follow its (former) rival’s faith?
In 2010, Skate 3 launched on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and it had a realistic approach to the gameplay, while the Tony Hawk games went for combos, as well as a skate controller. Since then, Skate has been silent, and outside from Skate 3 getting Xbox One compatibility, no news have been heard.
Daniel Lingen, Electronic Arts’ Community Engagement Senior Manager, has tweeted something out of nowhere. All it was was just a simple „#skate4” hashtag. Despite having 5500 followers, this tweet got almost ten thousand retweets and roughly twenty thousand likes. There is a demand for Skate 4, it seems!
Electronic Arts might be preparing something, although the publisher is in a tight spot – Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 launched in a horrible state, and fans shouldn’t get a low-quality, sub-par Skate title.
Is Electronic Arts checking the demand with the tweet?
