MOVIE NEWS – Konami’s franchise attacks with an animated series.
On Netflix‘s page, we can read that the four-episode first season of Castlevania will launch later this year, and Adi Shankar, the producer, says the second season will follow suit in 2018.
„Inspired by the classic video game series, Castlevania is a dark medieval fantasy following the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepe himself. The animated series is from Frederator Studios, a Wow! Unlimited Media company, written by best-selling author and comic-book icon Warren Ellis and executive produced by Warren Ellis, Kevin Kolde, Fred Seibert and Adi Shankar,” the blurb says.
Shankar added that the story would be based on Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, and it will take cues from Game of Thrones as well while being „R-rated as f__k.”
Seeing how Seibert, who previously was the head of Hanna-Barbera Studios, will have his company, Frederator Studios animate the series, we can’t wait to see how it looks.
