Although the video is from the PC version, it’s worth checking out how Prey looks promising.
After watching the video below, we have thought of Deus Ex multiple times. The original Prey in 2006 felt more surreal than cyberpunk, but the reboot flips it on its head: it tries to take us to the future a bit more than 11 years ago with the visuals.
In fact, the early parts of the game don’t have that weird tone like what the previous trailers of the game had – sure, things will get heated later on in the game, making the battle between Morgan Yu and the aliens in focus, but it’s a nice touch regardless.
We’d also mention the GLOO cannon. It immobilizes the shape-shifting Mimics without killing them. Once frozen in place, we can bash them until dead, saving some ammo in the process. It can also be used to put out fires, stop electric arcs temporarily, and once hardened; the GLOO can be used as a climbable platform, too.
Prey will launch on May 5 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
