MMORPGs for everyone – thought Square Enix. However…
…there’s that lingering doubt. The Japanese company wants to make their MMORPG available on the most platforms possible. According to The Sixth Axis, the game’s producer, Naoki Yoshida says that there’s not a lot of chance of a Nintendo Switch port happening. The developers don’t want to create a boxed off version where the players cannot communicate with each other – if the issue gets resolved, there may be a chance for the port to happen.
On the other hand, the PlayStation 4 Pro patch is going to happen, although Square Enix would focus on the game’s performance instead of running it at 4K resolution. More details should be revealed shortly.
The MMO is expanding: the Stormblood expansion will drop on June 20 on PlayStation 4 and PC, and with it, the game bids adieu to the PlayStation 3. Stormblood will bring in the Red Mage and the Samurai as well – the latter is a melee DPS class with the katanas. Players who choose this class will start from level 50 (the cap is going to be increased to 70). Until then, have a look at the opening cinematic, the Samurai, the new areas, the new city (Kugane), and the new residential area (Shirogane):
