Guerrilla revealed the „first-week” statistics for Horizon Zero Dawn.
The game’s director, Mathijs de Jonge shared a few numbers on Twitter. We killed 152 million watchers, 1.4 million Thunderjaws, and 20 million turkeys in the PlayStation 4-exclusive game. Decent numbers so far.
de Jonge also answered a comment on Twitter, saying that there shouldn’t be guns in Horizon Zero Dawn. His response said that early in development, there were guns in the game, but they didn’t feel right, which meant they got scrapped altogether.
The game can be considered a success: the good review scores and sales are already present, which means a sequel is likely going to happen. What about story DLCs, though? They could somewhat fill out the game until the next game arrives. Regarding pre-order DLCs, de Jonge said that they could be available on the PlayStation Store, but he guarantees nothing.
Still, moving away from Killzone wasn’t an easy task for the developers.

@vipmaniacs early on in development we had some in, but soon replaced them as they didn’t feel right for the game.
