A NeoGAF forum user by the name of boskee () says that CD Projekt RED is working on another AAA game aside from Cyberpunk 2077, which as over three hundred employees assigned to work on at the moment. Still, during the financial report presentation, a question surfaced: will The Witcher 4 eventually happen?
„The Witcher was designed as a trilogy. [A] trilogy cannot have a fourth part. However, we like that world very much. We have invested 15 years of our lives and loads of money into it, and we will probably think about it at some point. But please consider us as rational people, we sometimes have weird ideas, but overall our thinking is very rational. We have full rights to The Witcher games. They are ours. We have invested enormous funds into promoting it, and it’s a very strong brand. […] We have to be very careful with our words because what we tell you is also heard by the gamers. Obviously, plenty of you are gamers as well, but what we tell gamers is part of the marketing campaign, so we can’t discuss certain things even though we know them already,” Adam Kicinski, the CEO said.
No matter how we look at his somewhat cryptic response, it seems that they might be ending up working on a spinoff in The Witcher lore… and poor Sapkowski, the writer of the original books, would still not see any money out of it!
