SEGA has given an exact release date for the PlayStation 4 remake of the first Yakuza, which was originally released on the PlayStation 2 over a decade ago.
1080p, 60 fps, re-recorded Japanese audio, physical version – everything can be ticked on this checklist. SEGA seems to be trusting its niche (yet still a highly regarded) franchise. Yakuza Kiwami will be available from August 29, but the pricing is a little unfair. While the game will cost 30 bucks in the United States, in Europe, it’ll cost 35 euros, when the euro is a stronger currency than the dollar. At least the preordering players and early buyers will receive an extra Steelbook for their trust in SEGA.
SEGA also launched a website where you can learn more about the history of the characters, and you can also find the first digital comic in the ten-episode series if you click here.
New cutscenes and Majima’s regular appearance also marks changes in Yakuza Kiwami in comparison to the original. (The end of August seems to become one tough time for gamers: in one week, the new Uncharted, the new Middle-Earth, and this game all launches…)
