We don’t think that anyone would expect them to show up in the game…
PlatinumGames’ NieR: Automata is a success with its at least one million sold copies on PlayStation 4 and PC. So far, it seemed that Yoko Taro’s game would get a DLC, but we were proven wrong: the DLC, called 3C3C1D119440927, is on its way to the two platforms.
In it, we will have to be victorious in three coliseums (without using items!), and there will also be sub-quests, too. Completing them will give you rewards such as:
- Costumes from the previous Japanese release, NieR: Replicant, for androids 2B, 9S, and A2
- Records that add special music tracks to the players’ jukebox
- New equipment and cosmetic accessories such as hairspray that allows you to change the color of 2B and A2’s hair
- Masks with unique “on equip” effects
- Special bullets that change the appearance of enemy bullets
The boss fights, though, are a different story altogether. These don’t give two rats’ asses about the fourth wall, as you will end up facing off Yosuke Matsuda and Kenichi Sato, the CEO and President of Square Enix and PlatinumGames, respectively! Great idea! As the DLC has not a lot of relation to the plot, 3C3C1D119440927, which has no Western release date yet (Japan has May 2, also ~15$ for the price), is completely optional. Other developers should take notes!
