Cory Barlog told a few new tidbits about the upcoming God of War game to the press.
He was the lead animator of 2005’s first game, followed by a directorial position in 2007’s sequel. However, he left Sony Santa Monica, to which he returned in 2013 to be the director of the new Kratos adventure.
Although the PlayStation 4-exclusive game has been announced over four years ago, Sony Santa Monica is still hiring more people – Barlog says there is no need to worry, as the AAA games are becoming more complex and big as days go by. He also said that God of War is looking better and better every day.
He also revealed that plot-wise, God of War would be before the appearance of the Vikings, and the game won’t focus on the gore and violence, it’s just that the game is taking place in a very violent time.
It’s impossible that God of War will skip E3. In fact, we think Sony will reveal the game’s release date in June!
@nyrolf88 nothing wrong, games are just very big, very complicated, require constant collaboration with lots of different experts. not2worry

@Codelyoko_1 I like everything to serve the vision/story/world. I don’t see GOW as gore for the sake of gore. It just takes place in a very violent time.
