Take-Two Interactive will launch a major title between April 1, 2018, and March 31, 2019.
Strauss Zelnick, CEO of the company, has said that one of their major franchises is going to get a sequel in the 2019 Fiscal year. It’s obviously not NBA 2K or WWE 2K – both sports games have an annual release – they won’t skip a year in 2017 or 2018.
Zelnick didn’t mention that it would be a Rockstar game either (although Red Dead Redemption 2, if launching in April or May, would fit the launch window), which means we could either get a new BioShock game or, more likely, Borderlands 3. As Randy Pitchford has recently shown a tech demo with Unreal Engine 4, the latter game looks possible to arrive maybe even in 2018.
Zelnick, regarding the delay of Red Dead Redemption 2, has said that it didn’t happen because of Rockstar running into technical issues and has underlined the „best experience possible” comment which we read in Rockstar’s announcement. (Could it be because of Far Cry 5 then?)
Also, 80 million copies of Grand Theft Auto V shipped. Damn!
