There is no year without a FIFA title. Who’s this year’s cover star?
After a few years, Electronic Arts is switching over its marketing from Microsoft to Sony, and FIFA 18 is already advertised with the PlayStation instead of the Xbox. Legends will be replaced by Icons: you will find the classic, retired footballers in Ultimate Team under this name.
The game will be out in stores in Ronaldo and Icon Editions on top of the base game. US pre-ordering is live here, allowing a three-day early access to play the game from September 26. EA/Origin Access will have the game from September 21, probably allowing ten hours of gameplay pre-release. FIFA 18 on the Nintendo Switch will not have the Journey mode (!), plus it will also not use the Frostbite engine!
Gameplay reveals at EA Play, Cristiano Ronaldo on the box art, and the game is out on September 29 on PS4/X1/PC/PS3/X360/Switch platforms.
