Perfect World and Cryptic started working on an AAA MMORPG.
„The world’s most popular strategy card game, Magic: The Gathering transforms players into Planeswalkers, powerful mages who can travel between planes, cast spells and summon mythical creatures. The beloved trading card game has over 20 million fans across more than 70 countries and is available in 11 languages. Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios’ new RPG will allow fans of the game to fully immerse themselves in the Multiverse, the rich fantasy world in which Magic: The Gathering takes place,” the press release says.
Cryptic Studios, who recently brought Star Trek Online to consoles, is now making a free-to-play action-MMORPG for PC and consoles. The project extends the agreement between Perfect World/Cryptic and Wizards of the Coast, who already had 15 million players in Neverwinter.
Cryptic is looking for some employees to have enough workers upkeep the MMOs. Seeing the announcement, it is unlikely to see the game at E3, or even later this year. At least we know it’s in development…
