It looks like the final form of the Xbox will be a PC.
The Verge reports that the Project Scorpio could be called Xbox 10 S (and with that name, we now see a reason why there was an X10S code hidden in the X10S101317 found in the teaser, probably revealing the release date), and it wouldn’t be a console but a gaming PC for your living room with Windows 10. Developers, apparently, could utilize nine gigabytes of RAM instead of eight out of the twelve in the Scorpio. The site underlines the thought with Microsoft always talking about converging the Windows software with living room entertainment… and that thought instantly points to why the Xbox One reveal had a recap such as TV, TV, TV, Sports, TV, Call of Duty, Halo, TV, TV…
If Microsoft does end up making a PC, which could be happening due to the Project Scorpio being advertised as the best way to play, only Sony and Nintendo will remain on the market with consoles… and even then, the Switch can be considered as a handheld.
Also, the new Windows 10 version, considered as a challenger to Chrome OS, is called… Windows 10 S. Coincidence?
We’ll keep tuning Scorpio to empower creators to share the best versions of their games. Unlocked extra GB of RAM for them, now 9GB of GDDR5
