Microsoft might indeed go into mobile-style updates if they started designing the next model.
Xbox One X. Out in November, touted to be as the strongest console on the market by Microsoft. We’re not talking about this console, though: Windows Central’s Jez Corden, who previously proved to be reliable, wrote on Twitter that the Redmond crew is already designing the next Xbox, which already has a codename, too (). He also said that leaving the Xbox One X on the market for just two years wouldn’t be a good idea, so the new (generation?) Xbox model shouldn’t be out before 2019.
Hopefully, Microsoft will follow Sony, and they will end up making a true next generation console instead of just updating the Xbox One again. We’ll see in the future.
The next Xbox is already being designed.

No idea, 2 years sounds too soon to me.
