We also got a comparison video between the PlayStation 4 Pro, the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One versions.
Previously, we wrote about how Destiny 2 managed to get 1.2 million concurrent players. That’s just the beginning: UK’s Chart-Track reports that Bungie’s game had the biggest launch of this year in the country. However, we have to say that they only track the physical sales! On the other hand, Destiny 2 sold 58% less than the first game during its first week, but in the new game’s defense, the first Destiny launched on four consoles instead of two…
Digital Foundry also sat down to take a deeper look at Bungie’s shooter, resulting in a comparison video. The PlayStation 4 Pro is capable of both 1080p and 4K resolution (the latter is done with checkerboard upscaling), plus it has better texture filtering and higher quality shadow rendering than the regular PlayStation 4. The original model has a stable 1080p resolution, while the Xbox One changes dynamically between 1344×1080 and 1080p. Despite this difference, the level of detail, the texture quality, and the effects are pretty much on par on Sony’s and Microsoft’s 2013 console. Let the video talk instead of us, though – Destiny 2 is out on PC on October 24, and this platform is where it can truly show its capabilities regarding visual performance.
