Pete Hawley moves from the formerly gigantic mobile and social gaming company to the king of the episodic games.
Hawley takes over Dan Connors‘ seat – Connors is the co-founder of Telltale and aside from a minor 2015 period (when Kevin Bruner took his spot), he was leading the company known for Game of Thrones, Minecraft, The Walking Dead, Batman, and other IP-based episodic games.
Hawley was a senior vice president and general manager at Zynga from 2014, and he told VentureBeat that it’s an honor for him to join Telltale. Before Zynga, he worked together with Peter Molyneux between 1993 and 2003, then he moved to Sony (2003-05) and Electronic Arts (2005-10).
„I’ve been a huge fan since Telltale reinvented the old LucasArts games. Now it is working with some of the biggest intellectual properties in the world. It was too good an opportunity to pass up,” Hawley said.
Best of luck to him.
