Konami going back to a two-year-old game to support it with the patch is honorable… but, to quote the game, „what took you so long?”
Those who own a 1080p television can expect better frame rate than before after installing the patch. As the game was already running superbly, it probably means that Hideo Kojima’s final Konami game will now constantly keep sixty frames per second. Those who have a 4K TV can get a higher resolution (it wasn’t described any further than that, interestingly), as well as receive a higher frame rate.
If you own Metal Gear Solid V: The Definitive Experience, you’ll notice improvements in Ground Zeroes, which is even more honorable than going back to The Phantom Pain, as this game launched over three and a half years ago!
Attention, PlayStation Plus subscribers: Phantom Pain can still be downloaded for free roughly for one more week! Sony will reveal its November freebies later today – we’ll come back to this subject.
