During Blizzcon, Overwatch was mentioned in multiple ways.
Moira, the 26th playable character, was revealed. She’s going to be a healer. Quoting Overwatch‘s page for her abilities:
„
• Biotic Grasp – Using her left hand, Moira expends biotic energy to heal allies in front of her. Her right hand fires a long-range beam weapon that saps enemies’ health, healing Moira and replenishing her biotic energy.
• Biotic Orb – Moira launches a rebounding biotic sphere; she can choose between a regeneration effect that heals the allies it passes through, or a decay effect that deals damage to enemies.
• Fade – Moira quickly teleports a short distance.
• Coalescence – Moira channels a long-range beam that both heals allies and bypasses barriers to damage her enemies.
”
The game also gets a new map: Blizzard World will, obviously, take cues from other Blizzard games. Azeroth, Tristram, and the Koprulu Sector might be all familiar for you if you play Diablo, Starcraft or Warcraft. Reinhardt’s tragic origins story is also now known thanks to the new animated short, Honor and Glory.
On Twitter, Blizzard confirmed that next year, new skins, emotes, and intros will all come to the twenty-six characters. They will not be limited to an event only – in fact; they will be cross-over items from the other franchises of Blizzard (Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo).

Also, Blizzard knows that they have to address those players who only ruin the experience for the others. Scott Mercer, the principal designer, told PC Gamer at BlizzCon that they have a few internal initiatives to get rid of the toxic players altogether. For example, he cited a pilot program that should notify the reporting players in email if the reported person gets caught and penalized, and it may be implemented in Overwatch‘s client as well. Mercer did not answer if they are planning to hire more people to keep the game experience as good as possible, but he did reveal that the issue affects more games than just Overwatch within Blizzard‘s stable.
So, Overwatch is expanding further and further…
