CD Projekt RED burned its rivals with just one statement.
Last week, we talked about Cyberpunk 2077 several times – for example, it was confirmed that it would contain an online component. Regarding this new information, there were fears about the game that the Poles could be behind the loot box-type of monetization as well, but the team has responded to our fears on Twitter… in style!
The tweet, which you can find here, says the following: „Worry not. When thinking CP2077, think nothing less than TW3 — huge single player, open world, story-driven RPG. No hidden catch, you get what you pay for — no bullshit, just honest gaming like with Wild Hunt. We leave greed to others.”
So there may be microtransactions, but only as an optional form for cosmetic items only, and not in the shape of loot boxes, which Electronic Arts used recently in two games (Need For Speed: Payback, Star Wars: Battlefront II). We might be getting no negatives after all from CD Projekt RED.
