Electronic Arts will likely have less profit due to the sales of Star Wars: Battlefront II.
On CNBC, we read that Merrill Lynch’s Wall Street analyst, Justin Post, has lowered his predictions of Electronic Arts. Battlefront II isn’t selling well (and the closure of Visceral Games did not help either): Post lowered the 14 million sales target of the game by the end of March to 11.5 million, and the earnings-per-share amount was also cut from 4.28 dollars to 4.22.
US’ NPD says that Star Wars: Battlefront II‘s November sales were 52% behind the first game (and in the UK, the drop in physical sales were a staggering 61%). There are no microtransactions in Battlefront II at the moment, but it may be too late.
Meanwhile, we got two PlayStation 4 themes. The first one is quite basic – the game’s box art is the background with no animations or music. The second one features Iden Versio (you can find a video of it on Facebook here), and you can hear the game’s main theme right now.
The game itself also gets new content due to hyping The Last Jedi. Finn and Phasma are playable characters, two new maps (Crait, D’Qar) arrived, Poe Dameron’s T-70 X-Wing got an updated version, Tallie Lintra’s RZ-2 A-Wing is available, and the single player got three DLC chapters (Resolution), expanding the story, set after the base game’s events. All of these content is related to the new movie.
How will Electronic Arts restore the renome of the game?
