Yes, we’re talking about music!
Destiny: Music of the Spheres was supposed to be a musical companion piece to the game, according to Wikipedia. It involved Michael Salvatori, Marty O’Donnell (who left Bungie in 2014, creating a legal argument, making the album unreleased), and Paul McCartney. Yes, THAT McCartney from The Beatles in the sixties!
The album got leaked, and you can listen to it on Soundcloud, and you can also find download links on Reddit, too. What are the reactions?
Not negative at all: Joseph Staten, who formerly worked on several Halo games as a writer and a creative director, is happy to see that Music of the Spheres is now available to the public, and even O’Donnell told Kotaku that he’s relieved and happy to see his work uploaded. (His comment on Reddit also got the most votes, unsurprisingly. However, he already wrote a month ago that the album got leaked.)
If we’re lucky, Bungie, who owns the Destiny IP (not Activision? huh…), will not take the album down. We already have it, though. One of the songs is an extended version of McCartney’s Hope For The Future, which you can hear during the credits roll of the first Destiny game.
