Destiny 2’s Curse of Osiris DLC has a bit of fluke naming going on for it – and a fan made things right.
The DLC has a location called Infinite Forest, which isn’t technically an infinite labyrinth – after one section, you are called away to continue the story. Pheonise, an amateur developer, who also plays Destiny 2, went ahead and made that „infinite” thing possible. He provides something actual infinite!
His system creates procedurally generated maps (think about STRAFE or No Man’s Sky, these games use the same method), and they are packed with random events, which could be boss fights, a puzzle to solve, or a bit of horde defense. Its completion nets you a loot box, as well as the choice whether you want to continue or just quit.
Possibly, Curse of Osiris will never have this solution, but still, aside from how the enemies look, this is a wonderful idea. A fan pulled off what Bungie couldn’t do…
