The things you can find in a Netflix trailer.

Dark is one of the first German Netflix series, and while it’s all good, its trailer has something unrealistic. Deck13’s game, The Surge (which is technically impressive, and the game is also alright) shows up in it… with cooperative, split-screen gameplay! The problem here is that the game doesn’t have such a feature!

The devs’ representative, Michael, responded on Reddit: „the series producers contacted us months before the show […] and they asked us if they could use The Surge for that […]. We agreed and allowed them to even fake a split screen if it fitted better for their idea. Some creative rework one could say. Technically it’d wreck the console though :)”

The reason that they contacted Deck13 is simple: they are fellow Germans. Still, this is an interesting way to modify the game a bit.
